Jakarta is the capital and largest city of Indonesia, located on the northwest of the island of Java. Jakarta’s nickname among expats is the Big Durian. You can get into Jakarta from Soekarno Hatta International Airport. All international and nearly all domestic flights land here 20 km to the northwest of the city. From the airport you can take a taxi to the main town.
